The story behind Berks County's community technology and sports center.
The Founder
President & Founder
Born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, Noel Sackoor came to the United States with a drive to build something meaningful. A former high school teacher and real estate investor, he understood firsthand how education and physical activity shape young minds.
In 2016, Noel purchased the former Shillington Athletic Association building at a tax sale. Where others saw a neglected property, he saw an opportunity to create a space where kids from underserved communities could learn, compete, and grow.
After years of full renovation, eCenter22 opened its doors as a community technology and sports center built from scratch by one man's vision and relentless work.
“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life—think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”
At eCenter22, that idea is growth — with purpose.
Our Story
Our Mission
eCenter22 exists to merge education with sports — creating an environment where young people develop discipline, critical thinking, and confidence. We serve children and families from underserved communities across Berks, Schuylkill, and Montgomery counties.
A regulation basketball court that doubles as an esports arena and event space. Physical activity builds discipline, teamwork, and healthy habits.
Upstairs tech lab offers coding, game development, web development, and data management — real skills for the modern workforce.
From financial literacy workshops with M&T Bank to cultural food tastings with the Islamic Center of Reading, eCenter22 brings people together.
The Building
The former Shillington Athletic Association building was completely gutted and rebuilt into a modern, multi-purpose community center.
Main Floor: Full-size basketball court with 75-inch TV screens that can be covered by wood panels to convert the space for events, esports tournaments, and viewing parties.
Upstairs: Technology department equipped for coding classes, game and web development workshops, and data management training.
Esports Arena: Tournament-ready setup that has hosted three Fortnite tournaments, with the first drawing 150 young competitors.
Event Space: Available for community events, private rentals, viewing parties, and educational workshops.
Community Impact
eCenter22 is registered on Charity Navigator and serves families across Berks, Schuylkill, and Montgomery counties. From Fortnite tournaments and Super Bowl watch parties to M&T Bank financial literacy classes and a global food tasting with the Islamic Center of Reading — this building never stops giving back.
Future Vision
Noel Sackoor's vision doesn't stop in Shillington. Plans are underway to open a second eCenter in his home country of Trinidad & Tobago — bringing the same model of education, sports, and community empowerment to Caribbean youth. What started at a tax sale in Berks County is becoming an international mission.
